MARE / CLIENT INFORMATION
POLICIES
Everything you need to know before we create.
Please review the following information before securing your session with MARE.
01
Booking & Cancellation Policy
This Booking & Cancellation Policy applies to all photography sessions with MARE. By paying your deposit, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the terms below. DEPOSIT All photography bookings require a 50% non-refundable deposit to secure the selected date and time. A date and time is not officially reserved until the deposit has been successfully paid. The deposit is applied toward the total session balance but is non-refundable if the client cancels, does not show up, or decides not to proceed with the session. RESCHEDULING Clients may request to reschedule a session through their client portal. Rescheduling is subject to availability and is not guaranteed. Any rescheduling deadline, rescheduling fee, and maximum number of reschedules are established by MARE and disclosed to the client. Until those terms are set, rescheduling requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. NO-SHOW If a client fails to arrive for their scheduled session without communicating or requesting an approved reschedule, the session will be considered a no-show. The deposit remains non-refundable, the booking will be closed or cancelled, and a new booking and a new deposit will be required to schedule another session. LATE ARRIVAL Clients should arrive approximately 15 minutes early when appropriate. Sessions begin and end at the scheduled times. Arriving late does not automatically extend the session, and the amount of shooting time available may be reduced. A session will not be cancelled solely because a client is late unless a lateness threshold has been established by MARE and communicated to the client. SESSION TIME Package time includes the scheduled session window and does not pause for outfit changes, travel between locations, preparation, makeup or hair adjustments, or other client-related delays unless specifically agreed upon in advance. STUDIO & LOCATION When a separate studio rental is required, the client is responsible for booking and paying for the studio unless otherwise stated in their quote or package. Travel or special-location fees may apply when applicable and will be disclosed before the session. REMAINING BALANCE The remaining 50% balance becomes due according to the booking and payment workflow after the session and must be paid before final delivery unless MARE has made a different written arrangement. PHOTOGRAPHER CANCELLATION If MARE must cancel a session and cannot reasonably reschedule it, any payments made toward that session will be refunded. The client non-refundable deposit rule does not apply when MARE is the party unable to fulfill the service.
02
BOOKING & DEPOSIT
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure all photography sessions. A date and time are not officially reserved until the required deposit has been successfully received. The deposit is applied toward the total price of the selected photography package. The remaining 50% balance is due following the completion of the scheduled session. 50% DEPOSIT — DUE TO SECURE YOUR DATE 50% REMAINING BALANCE — DUE AFTER YOUR SESSION
03
REMAINING BALANCE & IMAGE RELEASE
The remaining 50% balance is due immediately following the completion of the photography session. The session must be paid in full before any photographs are released. No images will be delivered while an outstanding balance remains. This includes RAW photographs, preview photographs, proof galleries, sneak peeks, retouched photographs, final galleries, and any other downloadable photography files. NO IMAGE DELIVERY BEGINS UNTIL THE SESSION BALANCE HAS BEEN PAID IN FULL. The client's normal turnaround period begins after the remaining balance has been successfully paid.
04
ARRIVAL & SESSION TIME
Clients are encouraged to arrive 15 minutes early to prepare for their session. Sessions begin and end according to the originally scheduled booking time. The session clock does not stop for late arrival, outfit changes, hair or makeup adjustments, preparation, client delays, or location preparation. Arriving late does not extend the scheduled session. Clients arriving 20 minutes late or more will have less remaining shoot time. The session will still end at its originally scheduled time unless additional time is approved and purchased.
05
IMAGE DELIVERY
RAW PHOTOGRAPHS — delivered within approximately 1–3 business days after the session balance has been paid in full. FINAL EDITED GALLERY — delivered within approximately 3–5 business days after the client submits their final image selections. The final-edit turnaround does NOT begin on the day of the shoot. It begins once: 1. The session balance has been paid in full. 2. The client has received the applicable selection gallery/images. 3. The client has submitted their final selections.
06
PRIORITY TURNAROUND
Clients who need their final photographs sooner may purchase Priority Turnaround. Priority turnaround applies to the delivery of the client's selected final edited images. 24-HOUR PRIORITY — +$75 48-HOUR PRIORITY — +$50 Priority turnaround begins after the client has paid the session balance in full and submitted their final image selections. These turnaround options are not payment deadlines. There is no 24-hour or 48-hour remaining-balance payment policy.
07
TRAVEL
Travel fees may apply depending on the selected shoot location. Any applicable travel fee will be communicated to the client before the session whenever possible. Lifestyle or on-location photography may require an additional travel charge depending on distance and location.
08
STUDIO SESSIONS
Studio rental is not included in MARE photography package pricing. The client is responsible for securing and paying for the studio separately. Studios may be booked through platforms such as Peerspace or another mutually approved studio/location. The price paid to MARE covers MARE's photography services and package deliverables only unless explicitly stated otherwise.
09
LIFESTYLE / ON-LOCATION SESSIONS
Lifestyle sessions take place at the selected or agreed-upon location. Travel fees may apply depending on the location. Clients should arrive prepared and ready to begin at their scheduled time. Travel, preparation, outfit changes, and client delays do not pause the scheduled session time.
10
COPYRIGHT & IMAGE USAGE
MARE / MAREFRAMES retains copyright ownership of photographs created during photography sessions unless otherwise agreed upon through a separate written agreement. Booking a photography session does not transfer MARE's copyright ownership to the client. The client receives the photographs and usage permitted through their applicable photography package and agreement.
11
PROMOTIONAL USE
By booking and participating in a photography session with MARE, the client acknowledges and agrees that photographs and other visual content captured during the session may be used by MARE for portfolio, promotional, marketing, editorial, and business-related purposes. This may include the MARE website, MARE portfolio, MAREFRAMES social media, Instagram and other social platforms, digital marketing, advertising, promotional materials, portfolio presentations, printed marketing material, website banners, editorial layouts, behind-the-scenes content, and business and brand content. The client grants MARE permission to display, publish, reproduce, and use photographs created during the session for these purposes. This permission does not transfer MARE's copyright ownership to the client. For sessions involving minors, appropriate permission must be obtained from a parent or legal guardian before promotional use.
12
PRIVATE / NON-PROMOTIONAL SESSIONS
If a client requires their session or photographs to remain private and not be used for MARE's portfolio, social media, advertising, website, or promotional purposes, this request must be communicated and approved in writing before the session. Do not assume a session is private unless this has been agreed upon beforehand.
13
CLIENT RESPONSIBILITY
Clients are responsible for reviewing their selected package, session duration, deliverables, location requirements, studio requirements when applicable, deposit amount, remaining balance, turnaround times, applicable travel fees, and MARE policies before completing their booking. Booking represents acknowledgment of the applicable session terms.
MARE / BEFORE THE SESSION
COME PREPARED.
LEAVE ROOM TO CREATE.
A great session starts before the camera comes out. These aren't requirements — just a few recommendations to help you feel prepared, confident, and fully present when it's time to create.
01
BRING SOMEONE YOU TRUST
While bringing someone with you is not required, MARE recommends bringing a friend, assistant, or someone you trust to your session. Having another set of eyes can make a difference — they may notice small details with your hair, clothing, accessories, or overall appearance that may not always be visible from behind the camera. More importantly, having someone familiar with you can help you feel comfortable, confident, and like yourself in front of the camera. It's not necessary — just recommended.
02
COME CAMERA-READY
Arrive with your hair, makeup, grooming, and first look ready whenever possible. Final touch-ups are completely fine, but preparing beforehand allows us to spend more of the scheduled session actually creating.
03
PREP YOUR LOOKS
Try on your outfits before shoot day. Make sure everything fits and looks the way you envisioned. Before arriving, consider steaming or ironing clothing, removing tags, cleaning shoes, organizing jewelry and accessories, preparing each complete look, and bringing backup options when appropriate. Small details can make a major difference in the final photographs.
04
SAVE YOUR INSPIRATION
Bring your ideas. Clients are encouraged to save reference photographs, poses, mood boards, locations, styling ideas, colors, or anything else that communicates the feeling they're trying to create. References aren't necessarily meant to be recreated exactly — they're there to help MARE understand your vision so we can build something that feels like you.
05
COMMUNICATE
The session should feel collaborative. If something doesn't feel right — an angle, pose, outfit, hair placement, styling decision, or creative direction — communicate it during the session. MARE will provide creative direction, but clients should always feel comfortable expressing what they like, dislike, or want to try. The goal is to create photographs we're both confident in.
06
BRING TOUCH-UP ESSENTIALS
Consider bringing anything you may need to maintain your look throughout the session — a comb or brush, hair products, lip products, makeup for touch-ups, powder, lotion, a lint roller, safety pins, a small mirror, and water. Only bring what applies to you and your session.
07
GIVE YOURSELF TIME
Avoid arriving rushed whenever possible. MARE already recommends arriving approximately 15 minutes early. Use that time to settle in, organize your looks, make final adjustments, get comfortable with the environment, and mentally lock into the session. The goal is to start creating with intention rather than starting stressed or rushed.
08
TRUST THE PROCESS
Come with a vision, but leave room to create. Not every photograph needs to be planned beforehand. Some of the strongest images can come from unexpected moments, natural expressions, experimentation, movement, or ideas discovered during the session. Bring your vision. MARE will bring the direction. Then leave room for something neither of us could completely plan.
COME PREPARED.
BE PRESENT.
TRUST THE PROCESS.
Preparation gives us the foundation. From there, allow yourself to be present, trust the creative process, and let's make something intentional.
